Description
Dura Shield Concrete Densifier, Dustproofer & Surface Hardener
Dura Shield is a ready-to-use, water-based concrete densifier and surface hardener designed to reduce concrete dusting, strengthen the surface and make floors easier to clean and maintain.
Its sodium-silicate formulation penetrates the concrete and reacts with calcium hydroxide within the slab, creating a harder and more durable surface. Dura Shield is suitable for new or existing concrete and can also help restore lightly rain-damaged or dusting slabs.
With zero VOCs, good penetration and a breathable finish that allows trapped moisture to escape, Dura Shield is a cost-effective treatment for commercial, industrial and residential concrete surfaces.
Features & Benefits
- Hardens and densifies concrete surfaces
- Reduces concrete dusting
- Helps make concrete easier to clean
- Suitable for fresh and established concrete
- Can assist with rain-damaged or lightly deteriorated concrete
- Suitable for internal and external applications

Typical Applications
Ideal for:
- Warehouse and factory floors
- Basement and multi-level car parks
- Manufacturing facilities
- Commercial and industrial hardstands
- Workshops and storage areas
- Driveways
- Dusting concrete floors
- Lightly rain-damaged concrete
Approximate Coverage
Coverage depends on the condition and finish of the concrete:
- Damaged or heavily dusting concrete: approximately 2-4m² per litre
- Lightly broom-finished or burnished concrete: approximately 8-12m² per litre
- Concrete walls: approximately 10-15m² per litre
Dusting or damaged slabs may require two to three coats.
Application
Apply directly from the container using a low-pressure sprayer. Keep the entire surface wet for approximately 20-30 minutes, spreading the material evenly with a soft-bristle broom or microfibre mop.
After approximately 30-45 minutes, thoroughly remove all excess material using fresh water and a squeegee, mop or clean white rag. Excess product must not be allowed to dry on the surface, as it may cause discolouration.
Always test Dura Shield on a small section and allow it to cure before treating the complete area.
Important Information
- Apply between 10°C and 35°C
- Do not dilute or apply to wet concrete
- The surface must be free from contaminants and curing compounds
- Dura Shield may darken or alter the appearance of concrete
- Not suitable for natural stone
- Severely damaged or disintegrating concrete may require mechanical repair
- Concrete treated with Dura Shield must be mechanically ground before applying sealers, coatings, adhesives or glues
- Always consult the current Technical Data Sheet before use
Available size: 15 litres.
